Official Class Photo of 2012-2013!!

Mavs Academic All Star 2013

Our very own, Arabia, was selected to represent the Dallas Mavericks Academic All Stars of 2013.  He was nominated by me (Mrs. Tyndall) because of his huge improvements in academics from the last few years to now.  Arabia entered fifth grade focused and driven to succeed.  He has had perfect attendance all of third grade and fourth grade and has had ONE absence in fifth grade.  Imagine that....one absence out of 540 school days???  He is also recognized for his performance on his CBAs (he scored a perfect 100 on his first math test).

Here is a link to a video highlighting one part of his reward.  You can see Arabia standing in line waiting to shoot the basket around 1:12 seconds into the video.  He is wearing a striped shirt and red shorts.  Chris Kaman talks to him about moving up in line and you can really see the height difference!

Here is another video of the event.  Remember he is wearing a striped shirt and red shorts. He is present at 23 seconds, 48 seconds and 1 minute into the video.

Here is the pic and information that is on the district Facebook page and website.

Arabia Bradford was nominated by his teacher, Mrs. Tyndall, for the Mavericks Academic All Star award. He was nominated for his improvement in academics both on his report card and district assessments in addition to perfect attendance for two years in a row. He was one of thirty selected from hundreds of nominations from around the area. On March 29th, he was able to participate in a shoot around and question and answer session with Chris Kaman of the Dallas Mavericks. He also received a Mavs goody bag, fifty dollar gift card, autographed Dirk Nowitsky photo and a Mavericks team photo. He will be recognized at half time of the Mavericks vs Nuggets game on April 12th for his success in the classroom.

The BIG Night...and Mavs win in overtime!

STAAR Pep Parade!

Thank you Galloway for supporting 4th and 5th grader STAAR test takers.  We felt the love of the building and it felt good to scream, clap and cheer each other on.  We will make you proud!

Here is a glimpse of the 6th grade hallway....what spirit!!

April Fools Trickery

I tricked my students into believing I had hid five Easter eggs with homework passes....it worked!  To make up for my meanness, everyone got free snacks and they forgave me!
