About Mrs. Tyndall

I wanted to share a little about my summer with all of my fantastic families that will be in Room 40 this year. First, I taught summer school in June which kept me busy every morning. My niece was born on June 15th (my brother will kill me if I got this date wrong) and she is a beautiful angel that loves me more than most people :) In July, my husband and I went to Cozumel, Mexico to scuba dive! We saw two sharks, eels, barracudas, lobster, crab, and LOTS of colorful fish. We enjoyed relaxing on the beach and snorkeling near our hotel. In August we visited the Austin Hill Country to hear some great country music, float the Guadalupe River and enjoy nature with our friends. My summer has been filled with laughter and sleep so I should be well rested to start a new year with you!

All About Room 40

Welcome new 5th Graders to the 2011-2012 school year! I am excited to share that 5th grade is self-contained this year which means we will be sharing our entire day together instead of rotating classes. I have experience teaching 3rd grade, so know that you are in good hands as I master the art of teaching math and science for the first time in 5th grade. We will have a great year and I know you are as excited as I am.

Please keep the date September 1st open on your calendar as Galloway will be hosting Open House. We will have three rotations (6, 6:30, 7:00) where you can hear about our classroom and events going on this school year. I look forward to meeting you!

School will begin on Monday, August 22nd at 7:45 a.m. The first day will be setting goals, labeling supplies, and getting to know each other. On Tuesday we will begin our full schedule and the first day of curriculum. Our schedule is very interesting: Lunch is 11:42-12:12, PE is T, Th. Fri from 9:45-10:30, Art is on Mondays and Music is on M and W. I will hand out a more specific schedule on Monday, but this will give you a taste of what to expect.
